On November 2, during a concurrent program of Bird in Flight Prize ‘20 online lecture course we’ll hold an open artist talk with a French photographer Vasantha Yogananthan.

Vasantha has dedicated more than seven years of work to his seven parts’ project “A Myth of Two Souls”, a modern rendering of the ancient Indian epic “Ramayana”. The project combines documentary photos with collages and comic strips showing mythology from a new perspective. Using his project as a case study Vasantha will explain how one can tell a complicated several parts’ story via  photo books.

Vasantha Yogananthan is a French photographer, a co-founder of Chose Commune publishing house which focuses on photobooks. A Prix Levallois, ICP Infinity Award, Foam Talent, Prix Camera Clara and Rencontres d’Arles Photo Text Book Award contests’ winner.
