Artist talk with Shadman Shahid

Shadman Shahid works across documentary and fiction employing magic realism as a means of telling a story. Recurrent theme of his art is precarity of life in the present-day society. We’ll meet Shadman Shahid on November 4th as a part of Bird in Flight Prize ‘20 lecture course and have a couple of words on how the photographic environment defines a photographer’s work.

Shadman Shahid
Photographer, Bird in Flight Prize ‘19 winner. Born and raised in Dhaka, the capital of Bangladesh, currently based in the Netherlands. Accolades also include World Press Photo’s Joop Swart Masterclass, British Journal of Photography, Burn Emerging Photographer of the Year.
